I’m sure you’ve seen the headlines and the hashtags by now. Earth turns 50 today, or so I am told by social media. The word on the digital streets is that Earth Day was founded fifty years ago on April 22, 1970. In response to this momentous occasion, Jeff Gibbs and Michael Moore released this heartbreaking and thought-provoking documentary – Planet of the Humans.
I just finished watching it. I consider myself a critical thinker; a well-informed individual on matters related to climate change. But this documentary made me dig even deeper. With his somber tone, and concise story-telling, Jeff Gibbs really drives the message home. The time to accept the reality we have created for ourselves is now. Only with awareness can we instigate change.
